What a workout! Got this one done in 10:07 and was smoked. I began the day with the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). Set a PR on the push-ups... 111. The last time I was there was in 1990, just prior to going to the Basic Airborne Course. I did 106 then.
So that brings me to me ahh haa moment. During the push-ups I decided to focus on breathing and form, not so much on the number. What a difference! I didn't take my first break until 75. I applied the same thing to the WOD. I knew I could do the 15 rounds, but how fast I had no idea.
Mike and I have discussed this several times, but it is the intensity that pays the dividends. It doesn't matter how many rounds or how fast, just 100% effort the entire time, every time. Today, I planned on taking a break if Uncle Pukie showed up, I passed out or I was done with the WOD. It also helped that Lil E was doing it with me. He was excited he got done 4 seconds before me. By the way, he is 17 and I'm 43, so I'm not feeling bad about that at all.
